    We implement service changes every January, April, June, and September to ensure service is provided where it’s needed most based on seasonal patterns and recent trends.

    Starting April 21, TransLink is implementing modest increases to bus service levels on 35 routes around the region to help address overcrowding and improve convenience for customers.

    • Nearly half of these service increases (16) are on routes located south of the Fraser River, one of the region’s fastest growing areas for transit ridership.

    • This includes earlier weekday morning trips on route 240, improving convenience for Seaspan employees working the early shift at Seaspan’s North Vancouver campus.

    • TransLink is extending the hours of service on two routes in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to deliver improved connections to Katzie First Nation.

    TransLink is addressing overcrowding on one of our most overcrowded routes, route 23, by replacing community shuttles with 40-foot buses, increasing capacity by 50 per cent or more throughout the week.

    • With this vehicle upgrade, service is expected to be more reliable on route 23, reducing the number of pass-ups on the route during peak hours.

    • To accommodate the larger buses, there will be minor changes to the westbound routing near Main Street-Science World Station and some bus stops will be removed to improve efficiency along the route.

    TransLink is also increasing seasonal service on 12 routes to improve access and convenience to popular seasonal destinations like Stanley Park, Buntzen Lake, and White Pine Beach.

    • This includes some additional service on nine routes and the re-introduction of service on three routes that operate from April to September.

    • With the school year coming to an end, we are reducing service on five routes serving post-secondary institutions until September.

    We will continue monitoring ridership levels across the region to ensure service is provided where it is needed most as more and more people choose transit.

    We’re adjusting weekday peak service on the 116 between North Fraser Way at Byrne Road and Edmonds Station to reduce overcrowding. This means that some trips will start and end at North Fraser Way at Byrne Road, instead of at Metrotown Station.

    Westbound trips ending at North Fraser Way at Byrne Road will have “116 Big Bend” on the bus destination screen. Westbound trips ending at Metrotown Station will continue to have “116 Metrotown Station” on the bus destination screen.     601 South Delta / Boundary Bay / Bridgeport

    We’re adjusting vehicle capacity to better match customer demand on the 601. All weekend and holiday trips will now operate with double decker buses.

    Holiday Service

    Good Friday: Friday, April 18

    • Bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus services will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

    • West Coast Express will not operate.

    • The TransLink Customer Service Centre, Access Transit Customer Care Office, and Lost Property Office will be closed.

    Holiday fares will be in effect. You only need a 1-Zone fare to travel across all zones.


    Easter Monday: Monday, April 21

    • Bus and SeaBus services will operate on a standard weekday schedule.

    • SkyTrain services will operate on standard weekday hours with reduced peak service.

    • West Coast Express will run at its standard reduced frequency.

      • Trains 1, 3, and 5 will operate westbound and eastbound service.

    Service returns to regular weekday schedules for all modes on Tuesday, April 22. Regular fares will be in effect.

    Travellers using BC Ferries are encouraged to view their holiday schedules as additional sailings may be added for the long weekend.
