TransLink adds service for Taylor Swift concerts

Extra transit options and more staff during all three concerts, including a special Rogers West Coast Express Train

VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink’s got a long list of ex-tra service for customers on December 6 to 8, as BC Place hosts the final concerts of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour presented by Rogers.

TransLink is providing extra service across bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus on all three concert nights. There will also be a special Rogers West Coast Express ‘Midnight’ Train on Saturday, December 7 to accommodate large crowds.

  • SkyTrain: Increasing frequency and maximizing capacity. Last train will depart from Waterfront Station at 1:15 a.m. for the Canada Line, and at 1:16 a.m. on the Expo Line on all three nights.

  • SeaBus: Offering sailings every 10 minutes from 3 p.m. until its last sailing from Waterfront Station, which is extended to 1:22 a.m. on all three nights.
     
  • Bus: Extra buses will be deployed as needed. Special “Swift” shuttle buses will be staged outside of BC Place after the concerts to help get customers to Waterfront Station.
     
  • Rogers West Coast Express: A special “Midnight” train will run on Saturday, December 7 to get customers to and from the concert thanks to Rogers. The train departs Mission at 4 p.m. and a return train will leave Waterfront Station at midnight. Seats on the West Coast Express train are first come, first serve, and cannot be reserved ahead of time.

Extra SkyTrain Attendants, Transit Security, Transit Police, and Transit Volunteers will be on hand at key transit hubs to help manage crowds and direct customers.

Concertgoers can also enjoy special Taylor Swift-themed activations across the transit system, including a surprise singalong on the SeaBus and live performances at Stadium–Chinatown SkyTrain Station.

Plan Ahead for a Swift Ride:

  • Plan ahead and build extra time into your commute.
  • Pre-load your Compass Card or use your Credit Card or Interac Debit Card for contactless payment at fare gates to skip the lines after the concerts. Each person over the age of 12 needs to tap their own card. Kids 12 and under ride free.
