New Board Chair for TransLink
NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – The TransLink Board of Directors has a new chair, effective January 1, 2017. Lorraine Cunningham is president and chief executive officer of the Cunningham Group, a Vancouver-based entrepreneurial investment group. She is also chair of the Pacific Pilotage Authority, a federal Crown corporation, and has been a director on the TransLink board for the past four years.
"Our outgoing chair Don Rose has laid the groundwork for, and continued to strengthen, the relationship between TransLink and the Mayors' Council," said Ms. Cunningham. "Under Don's leadership, we also brought our new CEO, Kevin Desmond, on board, which was a significant accomplishment for the organization."
Ms. Cunningham said that as the incoming chair, her priorities will be continuing to grow transparency at TransLink, working to advance the 10-Year Vision for Metro Vancouver Transit and Transportation, and enhancing the customer experience.
"I am honoured to have served as the Chair of the TransLink Board of Directors," said outgoing chair Mr. Rose. "TransLink is a large, complex organization with a broad mandate and wide-ranging service area. Lorraine's years of experience as a director, coupled with her extensive knowledge of the transportation industry, will continue to serve the board well as she assumes her new role as chair."
