Compass Cards widely available for start of November Monthly Pass sales

New Westminster, BC – Compass Cards are now widely available in time for the start of November Monthly Pass sales. Customers buying a Monthly Pass for November have the option to load it onto their Compass Card, rather than purchase a traditional paper FareCard.

Customers can now buy Adult Compass Cards in several ways:

  • Online at compasscard.ca
  • Over the phone at 604.398.2042
  • Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium-Chinatown Station
  • Compass Vending Machines (CVMs) at most SkyTrain stations and at all West Coast Express stations
  • CVMs located at 18 London Drugs stores

By November 1, cards will be available everywhere, including throughout the FareDealer network.

“Customer response to Compass has been incredibly positive and we can’t wait to get more cards into customers’ hands,” said Cathy McLay, TransLink’s Acting CEO. “As we roll out Compass in phases, most of our customers can now get a card and begin to enjoy a whole new transit experience with the convenient, easy-to-use and secure Compass Card.”

More than 250,000 customers are already using Compass, and this number is expected to grow over the next few weeks as customers transition to Compass Cards.

Customers can load any type of fare onto their card at any time, including DayPasses and Stored Value (money) instead of buying traditional fare media. Travelling with Stored Value gives customers the same rate as FareSavers.

Customers can learn where to get a Compass Card in a new video, available online today.
