    Our maintenance team is essential in ensuring our fleet and infrastructure are in top condition. If you have skills in heavy-duty mechanics or guideway maintenance and or skilled trades we have exciting opportunities for you.     Are you passionate about keeping transit systems safe, reliable, and running smoothly? Join our Guideway team and play a vital role in maintaining the backbone of our rail network. You’ll work hands-on with mainline tracks, special trackwork, switch machines, power rails, reaction rails and drainage ensuring our infrastructure is in top condition for daily operations.

    Guideway Labourer

    Hourly Wage: $38.67

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • Grade 10 education or equivalent.

    • Class 5 driver's licence.

    • Demonstrated experience in an industrial/maintenance setting.

    • Experience in rail maintenance is preferred.

    Guideway Serviceperson

    Hourly Wage: $46.10

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ recent related mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment; or

    • Equivalent combination of post-secondary technical training and experience working toward a relevant trade.

    • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.

    • Experience working in rail maintenance preferred.

    Support Equipment Technician - Guideway

    Hourly Wage: $58.27

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • High school graduation or equivalent. BCTQ and/or Interprovincial Certification as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Industrial Mechanic with a combination of education and experience. Red Seal Automotive Technicians with the following minimum qualifications may also be considered: diesel engine, air brake, and fluid power system (air and hydraulic) repair and maintenance. Must have served an apprenticeship in one of the indicated trades or Equivalent

    • CVIP, welding, and industrial electronics certification an asset

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience in equipment and machinery maintenance at the Red Seal/ Journeyperson level

    • Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of equipment and machinery.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team

    The Power Technicians plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of SkyTrain’s electrical power systems. This includes the maintenance, repair, and oversight of propulsion power substations, station electrical distribution networks, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), guideway electrical components, and systems within the Operations and Maintenance Centre (OMC). This role helps keep our zero-emission fleet running smoothly across Metro Vancouver.

    Hourly Wage: $61.18

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • High School graduation or equivalent;

    • Red Seal Certification for Industrial Electrician

    • The following trades; AME-M, AME-E, Electrical Technologist, Mechanical Technologist, Electronics Technologist or Electronics Technician may also be considered.

    • Minimum of five (5) years recent maintenance experience in the last 6 years at the journeyperson level

    • Experience in the maintenance and repair of 12.5kV and/or 25 kV AC electrical switch gear, transformers protection relays and associated controls

    • Experience in 600 VAC distribution equipment and associated control circuits

    The Vehicle Technician is important in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operations of SkyTrain fleet. This position is responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of rail-bound SkyTrain vehicles’ mechanical, electrical and electronic systems. With a focus on precision and innovation, Vehicle Technicians help deliver a seamless transit experience for our everyday customers.

    Hourly Wage: $61.18

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;

    • Red Seal Certification in one of the following trades; Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Commercial Transport, Mechanic, Industrial Electrician.

    • The following trades; AME-M, AME-E, Electrical Technologist, Mechanical Technologist, Electronics Technologist or Electronics Technician may also be considered.

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience having been certified in one of the above Trades over the last 6 years.

    • Completion or ability to satisfactorily complete all levels of the SkyTrain vehicle specific maintenance courses.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.

    • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.

    We are hiring for various safety roles within areas such as Safety and Environmental Compliance, Operations and Maintenance Safety and Project and Contractor Safety. These leadership roles offer the opportunity to lead impactful safety strategies, programs and campaigns, shape a proactive safety future regulatory compliance and contribute to the delivery of a safe, accessible SkyTrain service for over 450,000 daily riders. They also play a key role in working with contractors and conducting risk assessments, inspections and procedure reviews.

    Annual Salary: $107,200-$160,800

    Required Qualifications:

    • A degree in a safety-related discipline, plus 8 (eight) years of progressive experience in safety and environmental management-related fields including senior-level roles.

    • Experience in transit occupational safety, especially in a rail environment, and achievement of Canadian Registered Safety.

    • Professional (CRSP) designation would be considered a significant asset.

    Annual Salary:$82,400 - $123, 600

    Required Qualifications:

    • The requirements for this job are typically acquired through a diploma in a safety-related discipline, plus a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or equivalent plus 5 years of related progressive experience.

    Annual Salary: $75,600 - $113,400

    Required Qualifications:

    • The requirements for this job are typically acquired through a diploma in a safety-related discipline, plus a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or equivalent, plus 4 years of progressive experience. Experience in construction safety and management is an asset.

    The SkyTrain Attendant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service across trains and stations, ensuring a safe, accessible, and efficient transit experience. In this people-focused role, individuals will inspect fares, respond to emergencies, perform minor mechanical and custodial tasks, and manually operate trains during service disruptions.     Hourly Wage: $42.24

    Required Qualifications and Education:

    • High school graduation or equivalent

    • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license

    • First aid training to St. John’s standard level or better is preferred

    • Additional experience for faregate monitoring duties only: Basic computer skills, including typing
